Introduction of LightingTracker 3.0

Hardware:

1.  Base station. Each system can be configured with 16 base stations at most.(The parameters of VIVE’s base station:Pan: 150º, Tilte: 110º, Max distance: 6m), (The parameters of Valve’s base station:Pan:160º, Tilte: 115º, Max distance: 7m).

2.   Tracker. These images below shows three different trackers: vive tracker的2.0,3.0 and tundra tracker. The shape is obvious,               the tundra tracker is the most compact, of course, the battery life has reached more than 7 hours or even longer. Of course,                 the supply of this product is relatively tight, and the vive tracker 3.0 is still relatively common on the market at present.

3.  Accessory. If the control area is far from the tracking area, because the scope of the wireless receiver comes with the tracker              can’t be reached, this range is within 30 meters, which is specifically that the site environment may still shrink, at this time, you            will need to use a network to transfer tracking signals. This is where USB network extender come in handy. Although the vive              tracker 3.0 can last for more than seven hours, it can meet the basic use, but for normal use, it’s better to have a USB extender            for charging spare trackers. When debugging on site, it is better to use laser rangefinder to locate accurately. In addition, if you            want to achieve multiple lights track one point, you need use it with the MA2 lighting console, but it is also possible to use MA2          ONPC.

Software:

1.    Steam VR. Because it is based on the development of the tracking system of SteamVR, So the debugging of the tracking system also needs to use the SteamVR. You can use this program to determine the coordinateds of the origin of the 3D virtual space. The most important thing in debugging is to use the laser rangefinder to determine the coordinates and posture of the laser.

2.       LightingTracker. Now version 3.0 has two modes: Artnet mode,SM mode.

The Artnet mode is use build-in slider to control fixture’s parameters by Artnet interface(The PT parameters are controlled by                the tracker).

The SM (stage maker)mode is need use with MA2 console, this time the PT parameters are controlled by the tracker, other                   parameters are controlled by lighting console, you can assign tracker to the fixtures that need to be tracked at any time.

When debugging, you can set some general parameters of fixtures first(like PT range etc.), and then click the SYNC button to               synchronized with the relevant parameters, this SYNC function here is for the parameters of lighting section(Not included                     color settings). as long as the parametersof the lighting section are exactly set, it is basically no need to set the tracker                         section. These parameters just as an offset fine-tune options.

The lower part of the tracker section is tracker parameter monitoring bar, which will display the real time positioning                                information of the corresponding tracker with the page switching of the tracker section.

In the fixture control section, you can use these sliders to set the corresponding channels, and the names here can be named              according to the fixture profile. The first list is PreCH(the channels in front of PT channels), and second list is an AftCH(the                  channels behind of the PT channels). When you adjust these parameters, you can view the corresponding channel’s value                    changes in the right monitor bar. Here I have made a value mapping, the slider range is 0-1, the actual output is 0-255.

When we turn on the power of the tracker, as long as the computer receive its signal, it will display the battery level of the                      corresponding tracker at the top of 3D window, and display the corresponding tracker tracking indication line in the color you              set, and the fixture is represented by an arrow.

It is supports up to 104 channels, that is 50 channels before and after the PT channels, and supports 16bit PT channels.

Market:

Because the limited detection distance of the base station, it is more suitable for (low-top) sports venues such as skating rinks for interactive performances.
